Our History

First established in 1954 by Mr. Arnold Pentland, an amputee himself, Pentland’s Prosthetic and Orthotic Clinic in Vancouver was the first clinic west of Manitoba to offer these services. Since the beginning, this company has been an innovator in its field, investing in new technologies and developing improved techniques. Pentland’s was also a significant driving force in establishing the Prosthetic and Orthotic program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), and as a tribute to Mr. Pentland’s influence, a legacy scholarship is still available to students who choose to study there.

Meeting our clients’ unique desires and goals is the key to our success. Taking care of thousands of clients requires a commitment to excellence and continuing education. We have expanded to four locations within BC to provide convenient care for every patient. This accessibility of treatment is strengthened by our many years of experience. Within our current staff, we have over 135 years of combined certified clinical experience in prosthetic and orthotic care.

Our participation with local rehabilitation centres allows us to work as a team with several therapists to provide enhanced overall care. While we focus on the future and new technologies, we are proud of our traditions and look forward to providing our special services in the community for generations to come.
